Feature Update: Enhanced Open Interest Page

With more charts, more data points, and a really cool way of tracking Intraday market activity, we are here with the new enhanced version of the Open Interest Charts.

Alternatively, you can watch this video here to know about all the updates in detail

Going forward you will be able to track Open Interest, OI Change, MultiStrike OI, Option OI vs Time, and Future OI vs Time side by side. You can easily switch between these charts like this

Custom time selectors:

You can now view the change in Open Interest at Intraday level or for any given time frame. All you need to do is select a time period and see how the open interest has changed.

To do that, you have to switch between Intraday and Custom Range. And select the From and To date to see the change in OI as shown below.

Track OI for multiple expiries:

Going forward, you will be able to track Open Interest Activity for multiple expiries at all times. You can track the Open Interest for Nifty, Banknifty, Finnifty for 2 weekly expiries and 2 monthly expiries, all at the same time!

Track OI Activity in real time:

Now coming to the biggest and coolest update in the feature!

We have added a new “Show OI” button which when enabled will show how the open interest has changed in real time over a selected time period.

As you can see below, the increase and decrease in OI is happening in real time on the open interest bars. You can hover over the bars and see the Call and Put OI at the start and the end of the time period.

Red refers to Call OI and Green refers to Put OI.

You can refer to the tooltip to understand the change in OI and how to interpret it

You can pick any time frame from the time selector/slider here and see how the OI performed in that time period. You can replay the change by clicking on the Replay Change button.

With this, at each strike you can easily identify how much OI increased/decreased over time compared to the OI at the start. And identify where the support and resistance levels are building up in real time

You can essentially compare and track Open Interest activity for every minute!

Upgrades in the Open Interest Page:

Just like the OI Change page, you can track the activity for multiple expiries together with the help of the checkbox in the Open Interest Page. You can also change the strike ranges and select the number of strikes to be shown on the charts over here

Upgrades in the Option OI vs Time Chart:

On the Option OI vs Time chart, you can now track how the Call and Put OI changed over a long period based on the expiries selected.

For eg, if Current week is selected, for any date the graph will show the Call and Put Open Interest (OI) of the respective week according to the selected date. The expiries included for the date can be seen in the tooltip as shown below.

Upgrades in the FUT OI vs Time Chart:

On the FUT OI vs Time Chart,  you can now track the OI Buildup in the stock over a period of time.

You can track if there is a Long Buildup, Short Covering, Short Buildup, or a Long Unwinding in this chart.

You can refer to the tooltip to understand the OI Buildup and how to interpret it.

Also, if you love using your charts in dark mode, just like me, you can do that by simply enabling this button here!

So try this feature out now! And let us know what you think of it!
